Maya Wilson is Managing Director, Regulatory Compliance, Mortgage, and Operational and Enterprise Risk Management Solutions at Treliant. She serves as a trusted advisor to bank and nonbank clients, addressing their most pressing compliance, risk management, and governance challenges. Drawing on more than 20 years’ experience as a former bank regulatory lawyer and consultant, she is recognized for the depth and breadth of her expertise and capabilities, which span multiple practice areas and sectors of the financial services industry.
Maya most recently served as a Partner in Promontory’s Risk and Compliance practice, where she supported clients in a variety of compliance, fair and responsible banking, enterprise risk, regulatory, and governance matters, including:
- Response to supervisory actions;
- Remediation plan development and implementation;
- Risk management program design, enhancement, and ongoing execution; and
- Strategies to improve risk management and operational effectiveness.
Previously, Maya served as an Attorney in the Legal Division of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and as Senior Counsel at the Department of the Treasury during the financial crisis. In private practice at Mayer Brown and Hogan Lovells, she advised clients on a range of bank supervisory and regulatory matters relating to safety and soundness and consumer compliance examinations, formal and informal enforcement actions, mergers and acquisitions, permissibility of investments, new market entry, and other business activities.
In addition to client work, Maya shares insights at industry events, authors thought leadership articles, and has guest lectured on bank holding company regulation in undergraduate and graduate Global Finance classes at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
